Let’s Recap our JS Boot­camp Prog­ram in Por­to

This August, DSR Corporation conducted a training program in Porto for students and developers interested in building their careers in modern web development.

Over five weeks, participants explored JavaScript, TypeScript and React through lectures, practical assignments and mentor support. Students had the opportunity to advance their skills to the next level.

How was the program structured?

First, we selected students through an interview stage. Then the program began. Each week, we had an offline lecture in our office delivered by DSR Senior Engineers, who shared their knowledge and experience from real development projects. Each lecture was followed by practical work, where students could apply what they had learned and receive feedback from their personal mentors.

In just one month, participants learned React fundamentals, gained a better understanding of how frontend and backend work together, and explored modern AI tools used in development. Moreover, working with Git and Jira helped them understand the development workflow.

During the last session, participants presented their final project to our engineers, showing what they had learned throughout the program. We congratulated the graduates and presented them with certificates confirming their skills and knowledge.

«Honestly, one of the things that stuck with me most was how friendly and kind yet professional everyone was from day one — I felt being into a supportive environment where every silly question asked always encouraged. Also, not only I picked up the React-specific stuff (e.g. hooks and state management), but I also learned a lot of universal — things like authentication flow, for instance. What was really important to me is to vividly see how the frontend actually talks to the backend over HTTP because I'm currently developing my own HTTP-server in C++, so it was helpful to see all those URLs, paths, headers and bodies in the real world.»

«I really enjoyed the Bootcamp. I especially liked how hands-on it was, building a real task management app with React, TypeScript and a NestJS/Prisma backend gave me a much clearer understanding of how the pieces fit together in practice. I learned a lot about React Router, component structure and working with a backend API, and the weekly Git branch assignments were a great way to build good version control habits. I'd definitely recommend this program to anyone looking to get practical, real-world JS/React experience, especially if they're transitioning into the field like I am.»
